Since 1998, Vanessa Benedict has helped individuals and business owners, particularly those over 55, secure their financial futures. As one of just 5% of female portfolio managers in Canada, she leads SilverBirch Wealth Management with a sharp focus on income generation, wealth preservation, and risk management for clients with $1M+ in investable assets. Her expertise not only guides her clients but also helps their families make informed financial decisions with confidence.

Vanessa’s approach is anything but one-size-fits-all. With an Honours degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and multiple professional designations including Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), Personal Financial Planner (PFP®), and an Insurance Underwriter’s License she creates financial strategies that are as customized as they are comprehensive.

Beyond the markets, balance sheets, and long-term projections, Vanessa is deeply rooted in family and community. Her daughter is studying Business Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), while her son, just starting high school, is an elite athlete playing for the AAA U15 North Shore Whitecaps. She knows firsthand what it means to plan for the future while supporting the present.

Her commitment to the community runs deep. She serves as Chair of the Development Committee and is a Board Director for the Lakeridge Health Foundation, a role that honours her father’s 50-year career as a doctor and her mother’s dedication as a teacher and volunteer. She also partners with Oshawa Senior Community Centres, and she’s a familiar face at the Oshawa and Whitby Chamber of Commerce and the Clarington Board of Trade.

Vanessa is also a strong believer in giving young athletes the same opportunities she’s worked hard to create for her own kids. That’s why she proudly sponsors the AAA U15 North Shore Whitecaps and the U13 Oshawa Lady Generals, because financial security isn’t just about wealth, it’s about investing in what matters.
