RESP Reminder and How To Contribute

As 2022 is coming to a close, we wanted to let you know of the opportunity to contribute to your RESP account this year. As a reminder, December 20th is the deadline for your annual CESG grant, which means the government will contribute up to $500 into your RESP for your first $2500 contributed each year.

In order to make your contribution as easy for you as possible, we are pleased to offer 3 options on how to contribute:

  1. If you already have money in your Non-Registered Investment account, please reach out and we will do the contribution on your behalf from that account to your RESP.

  2. You can transfer money online directly to your RESP account through your respective bank’s online services (phone application or website). Here is a brief step-by-step of that process:

    How to Make an Online Contribution

    A. Done as a bill payment online
    B. Add National Bank Financial Inc. as a payee
    C. Enter NBF account number with the Z at the end (the Z is very important)

  3. Of course, if you prefer, you can drop off a cheque to the closest NBF branch for deposit.
