National Bank Financial selected for the 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index
National Bank Financial has been selected for the 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for a second consecutive year.
The Index recognizes companies around the world who are committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women’s equality. This year's Index consists of 325 companies headquartered across 42 countries and regions.
The Gender-Equality Index measures gender equality across five pillars:
female leadership and talent pipeline
equal pay and gender pay parity
inclusive culture
sexual harassment policies
pro-women brand
NBF scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance across the framework’s five pillars. As many of you know, I am one of only 5% of women in the financial industry that are a portfolio manager. I was granted this designation by IIROC with the encouragement and full support of National Bank.
For several years now NBF has been creating tools and opportunities to empower talented women.
They have created a mentorship program that gives women enrolled in a university program the opportunity to discover the profession of investment advisor through internships. There are 200 women from across Canada in this program. I am proud to have been chosen to mentor one of them and I am thankful for the opportunity to contribute. We also have many male mentors as well, all things being gender-equal.
One of the best decisions I have ever made was to come to National.
They may not participate in flashy things like putting their name on arenas, but they invest in what matters - people. This firm is more diverse than most. The associates and VP’s and everyone in between are all treated with the same level of respect and consideration.
Your Silverbirch team is dedicated to treating our clients with respect and consideration and we always have been.
I’m pleased to share with you that it’s not just what we believe in, it’s the culture at National Bank Financial."Gender equality is a fundamental value at National Bank," stated Brigitte Hébert, Executive Vice-President – Employee Experience at National Bank.
"Our commitment is demonstrated day to day through concrete initiatives, such as the Women's Leadership Network, which is dedicated to women's development, and the many partnerships we've forged with community organizations. We're so proud to be recognized by Bloomberg for a second consecutive year."
